Banco Baquetas

About 350 ivory-wood drumsticks are pinned one by one until they form the seating surface, in an entropic accumulation with an irreverent line, like a drum solo. The piece is a direct conversation with music and rhythm — a sculptural assembly that is nonetheless functional and ergonomic, inspired by the stroboscopic photographs of photographer Gjon Mili (1950s), which captured movement as a continuous trace in time.
