Designer and visual artist born in Irati, Paraná, and based in São Paulo. His practice sits at the intersection of experimental design, critical design and collectible design, where the object moves past function to also operate as an aesthetic and intellectual proposition.

At the head of Studio Stefanovicz since 2017, he develops furniture, objects and interventions that investigate the displacement of materials, the inversion of signs and surface as language.

Works such as Latão Sobre Ruína, Je, Sous Rature and the Under Erasure series put the manufactured object in tension with the ephemeral, the error, memory and the purely functional.

The work has been shown at institutions and platforms such as MASP, Museu Oscar Niemeyer and Fuori Salone, in Milan. The studio has also taken part in exhibitions curated by Marc Pottier, Bruno Simões, Claudio Magalhães and other names in design and art.

Marcelo co-founded Estúdio Outra Oficina, active in São Paulo between 2013 and 2018.
